The purpose of the TMAP application is to collect and visualize data received from the tunneling machine by OPC server. It was needed to have a complete solution which combined both data acquisition software and visualization software.
There was a task to create a user-friendly interface and clear software architecture. Defined standards and targets were met by a multi-tier software application with dedicated application Server. Communication between Client and Server was implemented using .NET WCF technology.
Renewed software program has the following features that perfectly meet the needs of the organization:
Failure proof server to receive a large amount of data from OPC server and put the data to data base;
User interface with virtual keyboard;
Forms designer;
Indicators;
Reports designer and reports printing;
Charts of middle (minimal and maximal) and current values;
User and user rights management;
Multilanguage interface;
Server settings;
Error reports by email.
One of decisive points was the availability of OPC connection feature, as all the data acquired from the tunneling machines goes to OPC server and then it should be processed and visualized. Enterra was phenomenally successful in this.
